Ludovic Geneston is a partner in our international tax practice group.
He advises a wide range of multinational groups, investment funds and financial institutions mainly on the tax-related aspects of domestic and cross-border public and private mergers, acquisitions and reorganisations, leveraged buy-outs, and financings.
Ludovic has also developed extensive experience in the energy and infrastructure fields, as well as in the tax structuring aspects of real estate transactions (including for SIICs, OPCIs and other real estate funds).
Ludovic’s experience in tax audits and tax litigations also enables him to assist French and foreign clients in relation to all categories of tax controversies, from initial discussions with the French tax authorities in the context of tax audits or advising in relation to dawn raids, to defending cases before the courts, as well as defending clients in criminal proceedings involving a tax angle.
Ludovic joined the firm as a partner in 2018, after having spent successively 12 years in a leading international law firm.

Working alongside the firm’s corporate practice, the tax team regularly assists leading private equity houses with LBO and venture capital transactions. It is also increasingly involved alongside the restructuring and insolvency practice to assist with the tax aspects linked to prominent work in that area. Finally, the tax team also advises companies on their tax restructurings and completed a major asset transaction in Africa in the telecoms sector. Pracrtice head Xenia Legendre, Ludovic Geneston and counsel Thomas Claudel are the key names. Counsel Laurent Ragot left in early 2022.
