Partner Miriam Michaelsen, head of the Employment Law team, is specialised in the field of HR, employment, and labour law, offering advice to both Danish and international companies.
Miriam Michaelsen has vast experience in advising within the field of negotiations, court cases, contract and HR and frequently assists companies with in- and outsourcing, M&A and sale of businesses, and frequently negotiates – both as back office for her clients and face to face – with unions and organisations.
Furthermore, Miriam Michaelsen is the main author of the HR eBook (HR eBogen), which was published in 2017. HR eBogen is a “living” online work of reference written from a hands-on perspective, which is constantly updated and is the direct link between HR departments and the specialised HR attorney within NJORD Law Firm.
Miriam Michaelsen and her team of very qualified lawyers teach about employment law and HR on a regularly basis to heads of HR and finance all over the country. She is furthermore assisting international companies as back office regarding Danish HR.
Miriam Michaelsen is – in addition to her work within the classical field of HR and employment law – a first mover within the field of digital work environment and violations.
Together with her team she works profoundly to protect both companies and individuals/employees who are met with digital harassment including non-consensual spreading of images etc.
She works intensively on changing the legal practices and the companies’ view on the area. Furthermore, she has initiated modifications on how the police investigate cases of digital assault. She lobbies politically, and she is a pronounced voice in media debates regarding this subject.
She and her team – working side by side – argue for the need to take societal responsibility for changing the phenomenon of digital assault as, in her words, “a Wild West without legislation”.
She is one of the very few specialists in Denmark focused on and specialised in the digital aspect of this legal area.

Miriam Michaelsen also heads NJORD’s multi-disciplinary legal team, which advises on and conducts legal actions regarding illegal sharing of photos and film with offensive content on the internet. Dependent on facts, the cases concern claims for penalty, damages and compensation pursuant to e.g. the Danish Penal Code, the Danish Consolidated Act on Copyright, the Danish Data Protection Act, the Danish Marketing Practices Act, and the general law of damages.
In this connection, she has founded the association Digitalt Ansvar (DIGA), which among other things works to achieve up-to-date legislation and efficient investigation of digital criminal offences.
