Career

Before co-founding the Cologne and Brussels offices of avocado rechtsanwälte as a partner in 2000 he had already been a partner for a number of years in a reputable law firm specialising in environmental law based in Cologne with an office in Halle/Saale, which he established in the mid 1990s.

His practice involves, in particular, the on-going provision of legal advice relating to environmental law to enterprises of the manufacturing industry and of the waste management sector as well as to public and private clients concerning the remediation of brownfields and landfills. In addition, providing legal advice to private and public enterprises as well as to public officers as to issues of environmental criminal law falls within Ralf’s practice. Furthermore, he is distinguished through numerous publications and appearances as a speaker at seminars concerning national and European waste management law as well as environmental criminal law.

Ralf studied Law at the University of Cologne. Up until the completion of his doctoral degree and admission to the Bar in 1991, he was employed as research assistant at the Institute for Criminal Science (Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. mult. Hans Joachim Hirsch) of the University of Cologne.
