Position

Henrik’s speciality is primarily commercial law, and he advises and represents Danish and international companies and organisations within multiple areas. Henrik advises on such subjects as strategies for protection or exploitation of rights under the Copyright, Trademark, Patent and Marketing Acts; publishing agreements; music company agreements; all aspects of contracting within the construction law area; agreements on the performance of geothermal drilling projects; agreements on gas sales in and transportation of gas from the Danish fields in the North Sea; agreements on the development of IT solutions for both the private and public sectors; the provisions of the Danish Act on Processing of Personal Data and the Executive Order on Security; purchase and sale of companies and company law in general; procurement law; and contracting law in general. 

Henrik is a highly experienced litigator, and in recent years he has spent most of his time on court and arbitration cases, including international arbitration cases regarding offshore projects, where the court language is English. He is also a certified arbitrator and takes an interest in mediation, having recently qualified as a building and construction mediator.

Career

Henrik joined Lassen Ricard in 2000, was appointed partner in 2003, and managing partner in 2019.

Among his positions of trust, mention may be made of his membership of the Board of Representatives of the Association of Danish Law Firms during the association’s first six years, membership of the board of the Copenhagen Attorneys’ Association for 6 years, and work as a deputy member of the Danish Appeals Permission Board’s department for free legal aid 2019-2020. Currently he is vice-chairman of the board of law district 1, Copenhagen.

Henrik Schütze was born in 1971, graduated at law (Master of Laws) from University of Copenhagen (1995), and from The Law School, The University of Chicago (LL.M., Master of Laws) (2000), and is admitted to the Supreme Court.
