Matt is a project finance specialist, representing lenders and sponsors on major financings in developing markets with a particular focus on energy and natural resources-related work in Eastern Europe and Africa.

His experience includes financing various mining projects in Europe, and numerous natural resources and infrastructure projects in the CIS, South Africa, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Matt is one of very few specialist mining finance lawyers having worked on major mining project finance transactions for banks and financial institutions ranging from IFC and EBRD to Standard Bank, RCB Bank and VTB Capital, as well as working directly for large mining companies such as Newmont.
