Van Doorne’s insurance group sits within the firm’s wider dispute resolution practice. The team is active in policy drafting, coverage disputes, and conflicts between insurers and brokers, and has a notable focus on professional indemnity, particularly for civil notaries and tax practitioners in alleged malpractice claims, D&O, warranty and indemnity, bankers’ blanket bonds and cyber insurance. The practice has specific experience in the not-for-profit sector including healthcare and housing corporations, and third-party attachments under D&O liability policies. The practice is led by Annemieke Hendrikse, who specialises in D&O liability and often acts as monitoring counsel at the instruction of insurers, and Walter Hendriksen, who focuses on contentious insurance and liability matters, especially relating to D&O and professional liability.
