Position

Niklas Korsgaard Christensen is the Managing Partner of Plesner and advises on the implementation of large complex projects, transfers and dispute resolution in the practice areas energy, infrastructure and construction.

Niklas has special expertise in the practice areas energy, infrastructure and construction and advises on the implementation of large projects, the transfer of such projects and dispute resolution.

Niklas is a certified arbitrator and holds an MBA from the University of Cambridge. He has considerable teaching experience and has been an external lecturer at the University of Copenhagen.

Niklas is the Managing Partner of Plesner (since March 2021) and a member of Plesner’s Board of Director (since 2018).

The team is singled out as ‘excellent’, leveraging its ‘abundance of experience’ to advise clients on green and sustainable financings, onshore development projects and renewable energy technologies including geothermal energy. The group is also adept at handling offshore wind projects, with Esben Kjær advising international investors and national developers in this area. Practice head Niklas Korsgaard Christensen maintains a prominent reputation for his energy sector expertise.

The environment team at Plesner handles a broad range of issues, including nature protection work, climate change issues and expropriation law. It works in conjunction with the M&A team and real estate department to provide regulatory due diligence on M&A transactions concerning some of the most environmentally regulated companies in Denmark. The group is also well-equipped to advise on public law issues, with new co-head Marcus Elskaer Mollerup specialising in this area. Niklas Korsgaard Christensen jointly leads the group. Plesner is best known for its expertise in ship finance work and transactions, with particular expertise in shipping and offshore matters, including charters, ship registrations and offshore installations. The group also has strong cross-border capabilities, with practice co-head Peter Fogh handling international shipping contracts and ship financing matters. Fellow co-head Niklas Korsgaard Christensen has extensive experience in the construction and financing of airports and harbours.

Plesner‘s real estate, construction and infrastructure practice acts for a number of international investors, pension funds and developers on a range of matters, including divesting existing portfolios and advising on joint ventures. The team is also instructed on social housing issues and assisted living mandates as well as asset management work; Benjamin Bunnage is an expert in the latter. The ‘very talented’ Mads Berg and construction law specialist Niklas Korsgaard Christensen jointly lead the practice. Anders Hermansen joined the team in 2023 from Skau Reipurth.
