Omar Bassiouny

Founding partner and head of corporate/M&A, Matouk Bassiouny Omar S. Bassiouny is a founding partner of Matouk Bassiouny. He is consistently ranked in top tiers and bands by legal periodicals in corporate law and mergers and acquisitions for his considerable expertise in setting up joint ventures and new projects in Egypt and ensuring compliance with local laws and corporate law governance. Omar is also recognised for his negotiation skills and business sense. Omar focuses on all corporate matters, including M&A, public takeovers, restructuring and cross- border transactions. In addition to corporate, Omar has significant experience in all aspects of investing and doing business in Egypt.

Anthony G. Woolley

Counsel, Matouk Bassiouny Anthony Woolley is a counsel at Matouk Bassiouny and a member of our corporate and M&A team. He brings a wealth of experience working in corporate, finance, tax, investment, mining, and property law across multiple jurisdictions. Before joining Matouk Bassiouny & Hennawy, Anthony worked at several top-tier law firms in the United Kingdom, Japan, Indonesia, Mongolia, and Iraq. Anthony’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions transactions, along with general corporate matters.

Mohamed Essam

Senior associate, Matouk Bassiouny Mohamed Essam is a member of the corporate and M&A team at Matouk Bassiouny. Mohamed has extensive experience in finance and technology and combined knowledge of fintech. Mohamed also advises on commercial, M&A and capital market transactions. He advised on a variety of complex fintech and M&A deals and assisted the most prominent players in the fintech industry, ranging from local, regional, multinational, and international clients.

Amr Samir Sheashah

Legal counsel, noon Mr Sheashah was appointed as group legal counsel and has proven his ability to advise the BOD on many national and international transactions in numerous industries – including but not limited to – technology, hospitality, real state, F&B, DMC, and last-mile delivery. Currently, Mr Sheashah is Egypt’s legal counsel to iSON, the leading BPO company in Africa. Mr Amr Sheashah is a Double Master’s student of Law and Economics at Hamburg University – Germany, conjointly with Cairo University – Egypt. He received his LLB from Cairo University in 2017 and his BSc of Pharmaceutical Sciences from MSA University in 2018.

Randa Rezk

Senior attorney and MEA litigation lead, IBM Randa Rezk is a qualified lawyer with almost ten years of experience in the legal field across the Middle East region in corporate and commercial laws, drafting and managing contracts, licensing and franchising, IP, employment and real estate laws, mergers and acquisitions, and information technology, along with expanded experience, beside the Middle East, in Africa for litigation. Randa is currently IBM Egypt’s senior attorney and Middle East and Africa litigation lead and was previously a legal counsel at Hewlett Packard Enterprise and an associate at Al Kamel Law Firm. Randa graduated from Faculty of Law, Cairo University and is admitted to the Egyptian Bar Association. She is married with one child and pro bono is one of Randa’s interests, alongside reading, traveling and interior design.

Ayman Salem

Senior vice president, head of legal, Mashreq Bank Ayman is a banking  and finance lawyer with a master’s degree in law from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, US, emphasising business and commercial laws. He also holds qualifications from Cairo University, Egypt and an LLB – English Law School. Ayman has over 15 years of experience in banking, finance, and corporate structuring arenas and has advised on diversified debt and equity portfolios during his work experience. He has significant experience in structured finance, syndicated loan documentation, derivatives transactions RMPs, shipping finance, mortgages, and leasing finance. Ayman has also advised several mega finance projects, capital markets, and sell/buy sides transactions. In addition, he has significant experience to formulate and to draft bespoke documentation for finance and corporate structuring transactions.

Abdelrahman Abdellatif

Senior lawyer, Arab African International Bank Abdelrahman is an experienced lawyer with a demonstrated history of working in the legal services industry, mainly in banking and finance. He gained his LLB and LLM in public and Islamic law from Ain Shams University and is currently a PhD candidate at the same university.

He works as a senior lawyer at Arab African International Bank, mainly responsible for corporate and investment banking activities.
