After more than a decade researching and analysing Colombia’s legal market (some of you may recall our presence during the IBA conference in Bogotá at the club El Nogal, back in 2011, when we announced that we’d be launching a Latin America guide), The Legal 500 is delighted to announce our inaugural Colombia Awards event, to be held in early 2024.

Covering a broad array of legal sectors and industry categories, the awards are designed to recognise and showcase the country’s leading legal talent – both individual and at the institutional level, and across both the  in house and private practice segments. While appearance on our Awards shortlist should itself be considered a badge of merit, we very much hope to see you and your guests attending the ceremony in person early next year, where we will be celebrating the vibrance of Colombia’s ever-more competitive corporate legal market.

These awards are based on The Legal 500’s market-leading independent research for our annual directory. Winners are selected by a judging team spearheaded by The Legal 500 Latin America editor, Tim Girven, and head of in-house research, Joe Boswell, along with over 20 in-house and freelance researchers who have in-depth knowledge of their respective practice areas; this is the same team that is responsible for the annual production of the authoritative The Legal 500 Latin America guide, and employs the same evidence base. Some practice areas have stand-alone awards and others are thematic groupings of directory practice areas.
