Changing trends in commercial arbitration in India

Overview

Recent years have witnessed several developments in how commercial arbitration proceedings involving multinational companies have played out in India. Further, the Indian government has stated that it would like to make the country a seat for international arbitration. How far is this from reality? Do organisations have a choice of law and seat for arbitration while operating in India? Can foreign arbitral awards be enforced in India?

The Legal 500 and Trilegal are pleased to present a webinar on Changing trends in commercial arbitration in India on 24 August 2022 at 6.00pm India time. The session will aim to discuss the following topics.

  1. Choice of law and seat of arbitration under Indian law
  2. Enforcing foreign arbitral awards in India and vice versa
  3. Emergency arbitration in India seated arbitrations
  4. Bilateral Investment Treaty Disputes – Indian story
