Position

Timur Sukirno (“Titung”) is the Managing Partner of Hadiputranto, Hadinoto & Partners and the Head of its Commercial Dispute Resolution Practice Group. He is the founder and first Chairman of the Indonesian Receivers and Administrators Association (AKPI), and has represented lenders and companies in Suspension of Payment (PKPU) processes as well as out-of-court settlements and bankruptcy proceedings. His background as a banking lawyer gives him a good understanding of debt restructuring and enforcement issues. In the commercial  litigation space he has a broad range of expertise including advising domestic and international companies on issues relating to civil disputes and arbitration, anti-monopoly, compliance, and arbitration disputes.  He has defended several large companies in their anti-monopoly cases against KPPU (Business Competition Supervisory Commission). His expertise is widely recognized not only by overseas and domestic clients but also by international legal publications as he has been consistently ranked in Chambers, Legal 500, AsiaLaw Profiles and IFLR1000.

  • The New Turkish Code of Obligations: Important Changes for Leases of Residential & Business Premises

    For decades, the primary Turkish laws governing leases of residential and business premises have been the Law on Leasing Real Property dated May 27, 1955 (the “Lease Law”) and the Turkish Code of Obligations No. 818 dated April 22, 1926 (the “Obligations Code”). Both of these laws, however, will be repealed and replaced with the new Turkish Code of Obligations No. 6098 dated January 11, 2011 (the “New Obligations Code”), which will enter into force on July 7, 2012.
