For more than 20 years, Jonas Frii has been advising clients in matters pertaining to mergers & acquisitions and banking and finance, primarily within the energy sector.

Dealing with highly complex matters on a daily basis, in both a national and an international context, have resulted in a unique understanding of his clients’ needs and expectations. Among Jonas’ clients you will find developers, international investors and off-takers.

Throughout the years, Jonas has to a large degree also been highly engaged with matters pertaining to equity capital markets and corporate governance, e.g. through positions as AGM chair and board secretary of Swedish listed companies and international investment funds.

Setterwalls’ energy practice handles a wide range of transactional, regulatory and contentious matters in the sector. Jonas Frii has extensive experience advising international investors on the acquisition and financing of energy assets, with particular expertise handling domestic and pan-Nordic matters, including those concerning wind, hydro and solar power production. Tove Andersson has considerable wind energy market expertise as well as experience in large-scale permitting applications, while Martin Sandgren specialises in cross-border offshore wind projects, counting major names amongst his client base. The three partners jointly lead the group, which has offices in Malmö, Gothenburg and Stockholm. Senior associate Bruno Neumann plays a key role in the team, regularly advising on the M&A aspects of renewable energy projects.
