DLA Nordic’s ‘hardworking, commercial’ group acted in bankruptcies, notably those of Stjärn Kompaniet and Viking Airlines. It represents creditors dealing with companies in financial distress, as a result of the reconstruction of Saab Automobile. Jonas Premfors, who ‘administers bankruptcies in a solid, prompt way’, is representing the bankruptcy estate of Boliden Apirsa against Boliden in Sweden’s largest claim under the EC Insolvency Regulation. Kent Hägglund heads the team.
Hamilton Advokatbyrå has a strong team including Lars Eric Gustafsson, who was appointed receiver of Onoff Sverige; Per Månsson and Hans Renman, who assisted real estate group Allokton with a complex restructuring; and Dag di Meo and Michael Levin, who are also recommended. Clients appreciate Wistrand’s ‘exemplary work and understanding of the practicalities involved’ in corporate restructuring. The ‘excellent’ Christian Bergqvist in Stockholm and Margareta Andersson in Gothenburg handled over 200 liquidations in 2010. Michael Plogell was recently appointed trustee of Frog Marine Group.

MAQS Law Firm’s official receivers handled some 150 bankruptcies in the past year, and were instructed in company reorganisations and voluntary liquidations. Jörgen Estving in Gothenburg and Jan Gruvstad in Malmö are the key names.
Mannheimer Swartling’s Thomas Pettersson and Biörn Riese advise creditors and debtors negotiatiating restructuring and recovery. Riese was appointed liquidator of HQ Bank, and Pettersson advised Allokton on its restructuring.
