Career

Adam is currently instructed by GSK in the Seroxat pharmaceutical group action, by Shell and Unilever in international parent company liability group actions (human rights and environmental allegations), by a Core Participant before the Grenfell Tower Inquiry, in a number of vaccine damage group actions (including in relation to the Pandemrix H1N1 (swine flu) vaccine), by the MOD in a series of serious personal injury claims (TBI, NIHL, NFCI, WBV and Q Fever), and by a large group of Claimants in the VW NOx Emissions Group Action. He has extensive white goods, pharmaceutical, medical devices and motoring product liability experience. He regularly handles complex epidemiological and bio-statistical alongside other medical expert evidence. He is also expert in claims and regulatory actions relating to fire, oil, ionising radiation and flooding. He has prosecuted and acted for the MHRA, the Foods Standards Agency and the Environment Agency and regularly defends health and safety/fire regulation prosecutions. He acts for interested parties (including medics) before Coroners. He has extensive mesothelioma and asbestos-related conditions experience. He is regularly instructed in commercial arbitrations, public procurement disputes and related insolvency proceedings. He has public and employment law practices, and an EU regulatory Judicial Review he appeared in this year has been referred to the CJEU by the Supreme Court. He is often instructed in judicial review claims at the intersection of his other practice areas. He has appeared before all Chambers of the FTT and the Upper Tribunal (save in both cases, for Tax). He is Junior Counsel to the Crown (A Panel) and has acted for most government departments in a large range of matters. He appeared for the GMC in the Professor Sir Roy Meadow proceedings and before the Shipman Inquiry. He acts for solicitors, health professionals, surveyors and accountants before their disciplinary bodies.
