Oliver is an experienced criminal advocate. He represents clients in the most serious and complex criminal cases. Prior to being called to the Bar, Oliver was a solicitor for 22 years and a Higher Courts Advocate for the last 10. As a result, Oliver has gained a wealth of experience that means he is ideally placed to advise solicitors on case preparation in order to achieve the best possible outcomes for his clients.
Oliver is currently instructed in a multi-handed money laundering, a large scale drug importation and offences of serious violence.
Career
Oliver Kirk qualified as a solicitor in 1996 and became a higher courts advocate in 2009.
He was called to the bar in 2019.
Business Crime & Financial Regulation
Oliver accepts instructions in all aspects of Business Crime. He has been instructed in cases involving serious and organised crime, allegations of evasion of duty and money laundering offences, smuggling, cross-border crime and large scale frauds.

Oliver is a very experienced criminal advocate with a record of dealing with all manner of serious allegations.
He has been instructed in VHCC cases, murders and very significant drug-smuggling cases.
Prior to coming to the Bar, he specialised as a Crown Court advocate representing defendants facing allegations in serious and organised crime including fraud, firearms offences, serious violence and cross-border crime; evasion of duty, drug and people smuggling .
Oliver has also advised on appeals from the Crown Court and appeared in the Court of Appeal.
