Position

Ruth has built up a specialist practice in regulated lending, retail banking and financial services. She has successfully represented finance institutions in a number of the leading appellate cases on 'PPI mis-selling'. She is regularly instructed in litigation involving enforceability disputes, mis-selling of insurance and investments, payment of 'secret commissions' to brokers, 'unfair relationships' and irresponsible lending. Ruth has a significant advisory practice, covering compliance with the FCA's Handbook, drafting requirements for the purposes of securitisations or acquisitions and FCA authorisation and the provision of redress under DISP.
