Career
Olivia English joined Chambers in October 2023 following the completion of a 12-month pupillage. Olivia is instructed to defend and prosecute in the full range of criminal matters across the Magistrates’, Youth and Crown Courts. This includes cases involving drug supply, weapons and violent offences, Public Order Act offences and fraud. Olivia also accepts instructions in civil proceedings, such as Stalking Protection Orders, and Parole Board hearings.
Before starting pupillage, Olivia worked as a Research Assistant at the Law Commission, predominantly working on Corporate Criminal Liability and Evidence in Sexual Offences. Olivia also worked as a paralegal at Bright Line Law, a barrister law firm specialising in financial crime. As a paralegal, she assisted with research and case preparation on money laundering and other financial crime matters. Olivia completed an LLM in Human Rights Law at Queen Mary, University of London.
Olivia is a trustee of Leducate, a legal education charity.
