Position

Safwan enjoys a sterling reputation and is acknowledged as a leader in industry with clients benefitting from his decades of experience. His practice includes broad and varied representations of public and private corporations and other entities in a variety of industries. He has developed strong ties with decision-makers and is able to combine a detailed knowledge of the law with a practical understanding of how it is interpreted and applied in practice. He remains a trusted advisor and is always sought for extremely complicated transactions requiring extensive experience in Qatar laws and laws of other jurisdictions.

Safwan’s solid international finance and business expertise includes advising financers and sponsors on large-scale infrastructure and finance projects. He has extensive experience advising regulators, banks, governments, national and multinational corporations and others on various aspects of corporate and commercial, energy, banking, aviation, technology, media and telecommunications law, and on establishment and incorporation of investment funds, REITs, drafting legislations, legal reform and regulatory matters. Safwan is also experienced in all aspects of international arbitration.
In addition to his managing partner roles in both Doha and Amman, Safwan also co-heads the Government Sector Leadership Team at Dentons and is the Chair of the Middle East Regional Management Group, as well as the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) at Dentons Doha and Amman.

Safwan is also the Middle East representative of Dentons’ Family Office and High Net Worth Sector (DFO), offering holistic legal services to ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families and family offices spanning numerous practices and jurisdictions. He advises affluent Middle East Royal Families with numerous global investments and has extensive experience in the structuring of wealth management globally.
