Position

Milica Popović has been a partner at CMS Belgrade since 2013 and has more than 22 years of experience in legal work in the Balkan region. She is the Head of the CMS Banking and Finance teams in Belgrade and in Podgorica and heads the CMS office in Podgorica.

Career

Milica graduated from the Belgrade University Law School and completed her LL.M. in International Commercial Law at Columbia University in New York with honours. Prior to joining CMS, Milica Popović was a senior attorney and project director at the US Agency for International Development (USAID) for 6 years with the responsibility for Montenegro’s accession to the World Trade Organization.

She played a key role in numerous cross-border M&A transactions, financial and corporate restructuring projects and project finance, as well as other financing matters spanning across various industries. Apart from her strength in financial and corporate matters, Milica Popović is recognized for her involvement in energy and real estate matters.

She is dual qualified, as an attorney in Serbia and as a solicitor admitted to practice before the Senior Courts in England and Wales.
