The 10-strong arbitration team at sizeable but specialist disputes boutique Rodríguez Angobaldo Abogados is led by experienced arbitrator Jaime Heredia. The practice assists clients in both national and international arbitrations; recent international work includes advising Ariana Management Corporation on a claim against a transnational company for a breach of contract matter. Founding partner Fernando Rodriguez Angobaldo is another key team member, whose recent arbitral work includes defending a client in arbitration for damages against another company, while Enrique Varsi is also active in the arbitration field, particularly in relation to case strategy. Associates Marco Torres Maldonado, Lucero Ramírez Izaguirre and highly regarded up-and-comer Cesar Sanabria also assist on high-stakes cases. The 30-strong litigation team at Rodríguez Angobaldo Abogados is co-led by founding partner Fernando Rodriguez Angobaldo and seasoned litigator Jaime Heredia. In a headline mandate, the team is advising Scotiabank Perú on 110 lawsuits relating to civil, commercial and consumer protection issues, while – more broadly – the practice handles matters across a wide range of sectors including regulated areas such as finance, telecoms, healthcare, oil and gas, and mining. It is especially adept at handling controversies in the telecoms infrastructure sector, as showcased by the firm’s recent representation of Telefónica del Peru in an administrative case challenging fines imposed by OSIPTEL. Key support is provided by a strong bench of senior associates, including Joel Campos, Lucero Ramírez Izaguirre and Marco Torres Maldonado. However, partner Adolfo Pinillos left the firm with effect from June 2023.
