Shamilah Grimwood-Norley is a partner in Bowmans’ Banking and Finance Department.

She acts for a range of clients, Africa-wide, including developers, sponsors, commercial banks, development finance institutions, utilities and government institutions on a range of power, renewable energy, PPPs, privatisation and other infrastructure-related matters.

She co-drafted the first issue of the Standardised Public Private Partnership Provisions for the South African National Treasury, which remains the principal practice guide on PPPs.

Shamilah has BA and LLB degrees from the University of Cape Town and an LLM from Temple University, USA (Fulbright Scholar) and is admitted as an attorney by the State of New York.

Bowmans’ project finance practice is led by Shamilah Grimwood-Norley, who heads the firm’s banking and finance department, and Patrick Hirsch, who leads the project finance group.
