Career
Alejandro is a Shareholder in the Mexico City office. He focuses his practice in civil and commercial litigation, constitutional litigation (“Juicio de Amparo”), administrative litigation (encompassing litigation regarding taxation, real estate, intellectual property, public procurement, regulatory affairs, etc.), domestic and international arbitration and bankruptcy and reorganization proceedings.
He represents corporations and individual plaintiffs and defendants in complex proceedings in Federal and State courts throughout Mexico and arbitration forums. Likewise, he focuses his practice on litigation areas such as contractual disputes, business torts, breach of fiduciary duty, claims involving violation of intellectual property rights, trade secret misappropriation, government contracts and civil liability.
In addition, he has deep experience with constitutional litigation, including disputes involving the constitutionality of laws, regulations, and administrative acts and the violation of Civil Rights and liberties before Federal Courts and the Mexican Supreme Court.
He also represents real estate owners, trust managers, and real estate investment funds in a wide variety of matters, including litigation, commercial lease disputes, leasing of office, retail, and industrial spaces, construction related disputes, and administrative proceedings, lending transactions, and disputes involving State and Federal Court litigation.
Alejandro has been, for several years, a graduate Law Professor at several of Mexico City’s most prestigious Law schools, including Escuela Libre de Derecho and Universidad Panamericana and has been a Lecturer in Law in many different forums over subjects ranging from Constitutional Law, Intellectual Property disputes and remedies, to novel case law and interpretation of civil and commercial statutes.
He has also counseled and defended banking institutions from claims involving banking transactions.
Alejandro has a LL.M. from Harvard Law School at Cambridge and Law Degree from Escuela Libre de Derecho at Mexico City.

In September 2022, Alejandro Ostos and his team -formerly of Bufete Ostos- joined Greenberg Traurig, S.C. in what constitutes a significant overhaul and strengthening of the latter’s contentious capabilities. Ostos receives plentiful praise for his ‘extensive experience in administrative and constitutional matters’, and now leads the firm’s nascent civil and commercial litigation department. The practice works closely with the firm’s corporate and compliance offering and acts for a diverse client base that includes domestic and multinational companies, investment banks and advertising agencies, among others.
