Cassandra is a Partner in the Competition, Antitrust & Foreign Investment Group at Blakes. She advises on all aspects of competition law, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, distribution practices, criminal and civil investigations, compliance, as well as foreign investment transactions under the Investment Canada Act. Her clients span a variety of industries, including energy, mining, technology, pharmaceutical, consumer products, agricultural, telecommunications, transportation, aviation, financial services, manufacturing, automotive and real estate. She has completed secondments to Coca-Cola Limited, a major international law firm based in London and the Blakes New York office.


Cassandra was a sessional adjunct professor of competition regulation at Osgoode Hall Law School.

Joneja’s position as immediate past-Chair of the Canadian Bar Association’s National Competition Law Section, the leading advocacy organisation for Canadian competition lawyers, enables him to give clients seamless advice and insight. Soloway also acquires extensive expertise having served over 11 years on the American Bar Association Section of Antritrust Law; the pair co-lead the practice from Toronto. The team is also acclaimed for its litigation expertise and often oversees abuse of dominance cases, as well advertising cases and contentious mergers. Mention is also given to Brian Facey, Randall Hofley, Robert Kwinter and Cassandra Brown for their collective expertise in mergers, litigation and foreign investment. The team welcomed Elder Marques from the Government of Canada while David Dueck and Julia Potter were promoted to partner in January 2022.
