Position

Sunny is a Partner and National Practice Group Leader of both the Firm’s Technology group and the Firm’s Communications Law group. He has a substantial practice in mergers & acquisitions of technology companies and also advises clients on transactional and regulatory matters relating to information technology and electronic commerce, intellectual property, communications (telecommunications and broadcasting), biotech and defence. Sunny is also a well-recognized cyber breach coach and leads organizations through three stages of cybersecurity: cyber preparedness, incident response and post breach resolution work. Sunny works closely with boards and leadership teams across various Canadian companies and organizations in guiding them through the complex challenges of dealing with cyber-attacks and risk mitigation.

Sunny is widely published in legal literature and has authored and co-authored many books on information technology, communications law, copyright law and business.

Career

Sunny is a professor of law (adj.) at McGill University, where he has been teaching since 1994/95.
