Career

Leonardo is an experienced legal and business counsel, dedicated to major areas of business law, such as corporate law, contract law, securities and capital markets, intellectual property, corporate governance, compliance, regulatory matters, M&As, joint ventures, contracts, and transactions. He has been a partner at Almeida Advogados since 2013.

He has been an MBA Legal Management Professor at Paulista Law School since 2011, and was also  the Coordinator and Professor of “Strategic Legal Management for Companies”, “Joint Ventures”, “Ethics and Compliance” and “FCPA” at EDESP/FGV-SP (2009), Co-Coordinator (2003 – 2005) and Professor of specialisation courses in “Managing Legal Services” (2002 – 2005) and “Joint Ventures” (2004 – 2009) at the Fundação Getulio Vargas (São Paulo). Leonardo is a member of several associations, such as the Commissions of Legal Departments/Corporate Lawyering at the Brazilian Bar Association (Federal Chapter), Brazilian Bar Association’s Corporate Law Commission and Legal Committee of the São Paulo Industry Federation (FIESP).

Education

Leonardo holds an LL.B. from Universidade de São Paulo – USP (1990), a postgraduate degree in Administration and Business Economics from Fundação Getulio Vargas Business School, and an LL.M. in American and Comparative Law from the New York University School of Law (1997). He also holds a specialisation degree in Business Law from Escola Paulista da Magistratura (2003), a specialisation degree in Administering Legal Services and in Law & Economics, both from Fundação Getulio Vargas Business School.
