Career

Daniel Longa is a partner focusing in the areas of Dispute Resolution and Strategic Litigation, focused on and specialized in Banking Law, Strategic Litigation, Restructuring and Insolvency, Special Situations, Business Law, and Civil Law.

He represents banks, financial institutions, investment funds, and local and foreign companies in complex operations involving Special Situations and distressed assets, participating from legal analysis and negotiation to business implementation and effective recovery of assets and rights.

He has extensive experience in strategic litigation, both in judicial and arbitral proceedings, and has been involved in major cases related to corporate, banking, civil, credit recovery, judicial recovery, bankruptcy, real estate, labor, and administrative matters.

Cescon Barrieu has a versatile restructuring and insolvency practice that represents debtors and creditors. Judicial reorganisations, DIP financings, distressed M&A, and debt restructurings are all core areas of activity for the department, which is jointly led by Alexandre Gossn Barreto, who is strong on the banking side, and Rio de Janeiro-based disputes partner Cinthia de Lamare. Following the departure of former practice head Fábio Rosas and José Luis de Rosa in late 2022, the restructuring and insolvency team was reinforced in May 2023 by the promotion of Esther Slud to partner and the recruitment of Daniel Longa from Enforce, both of whom are skilled in credit restructuring and credit recovery matters.
