Laura is an associate in our Company Commercial Group, specialising in technology law in our Birmingham office.

Laura’s work involves advising on all aspects of IT and commercial contracts. Her IT experience includes drafting software licensing and development agreements, drafting agreements for the supply of hardware, software and services and assisting with technology projects generally. Laura also has experience providing commercial advice and assistance with negotiation to a mixture of supplier and customer clients on a range of commercial contracts, including procurement, novation, distribution, non-disclosure agreements and specialist client specific documentation.

Whilst working within the team, Laura has been involved in a range of technology and general commercial work for a variety of clients including:

  • Assisted with the negotiation and drafting in relation to a large international IT outsourcing for a major private client;
  • Assisted with project management and co-ordination of international advice for a large technology client on a multi-jurisdictional project concerning the import, sale and re-sale of equipment in a variety of jurisdictions;
  • Drafting bespoke software development agreement and associated licence agreements;
  • Drafting various supply of hardware, software and services agreements and advising on supply and support of IT systems both nationally and internationally;
  • Undertaking a virtual commercial secondment for a major international private client; and
  • Assisted with a major transaction for a public sector client relating to the implementation of IT Systems.

Laura has assisted with writing articles on IT security for the British Computer Society - Information Security Specialist Group's IS Now publications and is also an active member of the Eversheds’ TMT sector and has a major role in the editing of the monthly TMT e-briefings.
