Alex is an associate in our real estate dispute resolution group. He advises clients on all aspects of property related disputes, with a focus on helping them to resolve their disputes quickly and as cost effectively as possible.

Alex works with his clients to assess, understand and reduce his clients’ exposure to risk. Client’s value his ability to understand their business and provide tailored advice and guidance to meet their commercial objectives.

Alex’s recent experience includes: advising land owners on claims made by mines and minerals owners that development trespasses on their interests; advising a US client on a dispute, determined by arbitration, of a dispute over a strategically important site in the North West of England and subsequent appeal to the High Court; advising a national food retailer on the expert determination of a c.£18m pound dispute over a conditional sale agreement.

Alex has experience of guiding clients and resolving cases through the full range of different dispute resolution methods including the High Court, arbitration, expert determination and mediation.

Alex regularly provides training, to clients and the market alike, on contentious property issues (dilapidations, break notices, rights of first refusal etc.) and is known for his ability to distil and convey complex legal issues simply and practically.
