Peter Haas is a founding partner of Eversheds Sutherland in Switzerland and Managing Partner since September 2013. His practice areas are national and international commercial litigation in the fields of liability and tort law, as well as employment, contract and consumer law. Peter has a particular expertise in insurance and liability matters. He is the head of the dispute resolution team at Eversheds Sutherland Switzerland. His prior experience includes several years as an in-house counsel in the claims department of one of the largest Swiss insurance companies as well as an associate attorney in a business law firm.

Peter is a member of the executive board of the Bar Association of the Canton of Berne and a member of the Swiss Bar Association. He is a member of the IBA’s insurance committee, its negligence and damages as well as its litigation committee. He is also a member of the Swiss Society of Civil Liability and Insurance Law and its committee AIDA Swiss Chapter, the British-Swiss Chamber of Commerce (BSCC) and the American Law Society.

Education

Peter studied Law at the University of Berne and was admitted to the bar in Switzerland in 1994. He holds an LL.M. in European law, private international law and arbitration from the University of Essex (UK).

Peter Haas further enhances the practice with his coverage claims expertise and multifaceted work for a host of insurers. The team is also expanding its investor-state arbitration practice.
