Position

Partner, Martín Chocano specializes in international and domestic arbitration, as well as in commercial, civil, constitutional, and administrative-contentious litigation.

Career

He received a Law Degree with high honors from Universidad de Lima (2010) and a Master’s Degree (LL.M) in International Litigation and Arbitration from New York University Law School (2016).

Martín has experience in international investment arbitrations settled by the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and conducted under the UNICTRAL Arbitration Rules. He regularly represents clients on international arbitrations under the auspices of the International Chamber of Commerce and before the main arbitral institutions in Peru, related to civil, commercial, post M&A, construction, infrastructure and regulatory disputes.

He had litigated at all levels of the Judiciary, including the Supreme Court and, also, before the Constitutional Tribunal.

He was an International Visiting Advisor on Dechert LLP international arbitration practice at their Washington D.C. offices. He has been assistant professor of Procedural Law at Universidad de Lima.
