Luis Montes is a partner in the Banking & Finance practice of Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown in the São Paulo office.

Career

Luis focuses on project finance transactions and construction law representing multilateral institutions, commercial banks, institutional lenders and project sponsors in infrastructure, energy and natural resources projects. Luis has significant experience in corporate, finance and capital market law and has participated in significant banking transactions and projects structuring in Brazil, including construction and financing of energy and infrastructure projects, equity and debt offerings of Brazilian private issuers (both domestic and offshore) and experience in the Brazilian banking regulation sector, in particular banking products, derivatives and regulatory aspects of foreign bank activities and investments in Brazil.

Previously, Luis Montes was an associate of Lefosse Advogados in cooperation with Linklaters LLP, he was also a trainee from 2006 to 2008. Before his experience with Lefosse Advogados, he was a trainee in the Corporate and Litigation groups with Lilla, Huck, Otranto Camargo e Messina Advogados.
