John McElroy, Partner at Hausfeld London, is a commercial dispute resolution expert. He has worked on a wide range of Commercial Litigation and Arbitration matters – often involving international elements – with an emphasis on Financial Services Disputes in the last decade. He has extensive experience of acting for and against groups of claimants. In addition, John has close relationships with a wide range of third-party funders, insurers and brokers.

John has wide experience of cases in the Chancery and Queen’s Bench Divisions of the English High Court, including the Commercial Court, as well as in the appeal courts. He was the Partner responsible for one of The Lawyer’s Top 20 cases of 2017, Stuart Wall v RBS and one of The Lawyer’s Top 20 cases of 2018, Premier Motor Auctions v PwC and Lloyds Bank; both cases settled shortly before trial. He acted for New Balance in its sponsorship agreement dispute with Liverpool FC which went to trial in October 2019 and in March 2020, he was instructed in a three week trial for an individual former CEO of a listed company in claims for unpaid salary and contractual fees due.
