Career

Ciarán is founding partner of Browne Jacobson Ireland. He is a dispute resolution expert, specialising in contentious technology and IP matters and in competition / antitrust disputes. Ciarán has acted for a diverse range of clients with a TMT sector focus, including multi-national tech companies, global brands, founders and investors. Ciarán regularly advises clients in complex high-value disputes before the Irish Courts and advises on global litigation strategy. He has brought several complex disputes involving private equity (PE) and venture capital (VC) investors to successful resolution.

Browne Jacobson Ireland LLP has made an impression in regulatory investigations and follow-on damages actions stemming from decisions taken by antitrust and data regulators; it acted for Scania in multi-party competition damages claims against truck manufacturers before the Irish Courts. Construction disputes are another forte for the team. Ciarán Markey and Darragh Killeen have driven forward the practice, since joining the firm from LK Shields Solicitors LLP in July 2022; Killeen was subsequently promoted to partner in July 2023.
