Career

Tom has practiced family law since qualifying in 2003, developing specialisms in multiple areas of family law, with a particular focus on complex children matters.

Tom previously headed the Care Team, when he undertook a large caseload of public law work, before moving on to focus more on Private Law children cases in which he now heads the Children Team. Tom continues to represent children in complex Private Law children cases.

Alongside this, Tom also regularly helps clients in separating their finances following the end of a relationship or marriage, and in addition advises in relation to matters concerning Domestic Abuse.

Tom advises on surrogacy queries and assists clients on parental orders, donor conception and separation as well as LGBTQ+ matters.

Tom previously qualified and practiced as a family mediator, and now utilises those skills when seeking to establish a non-contentious and pragmatic approach towards family matters, where appropriate.
