Group Partner and head of Wills and Estates in Guernsey. Advises on all issues relating to inheritance, probate and intestacy, frequently drafting wills for both Guernsey-domiciled individuals and those domiciled elsewhere with Guernsey assets. Frequently assists clients in relation to obtaining Guernsey grants of probate or letters of administration, and advises upon estate matters in relation to non-resident estates.
In addition to her focus on inheritance law and estate planning, Joanne has a wide range of experience in private client matters, assisting in the recognition of foreign powers of attorney and guardianships, in addition to local matters.
Named as Citywealth’s future leader and subsequently named as a Citywealth leader in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Shortlisted in top 5 of STEP’s Young Practitioner of the Year Award 2014/2015. Twice named by eprivateclient as one of the Top 35 Under 35 Private Client Practitioners in 2010 and 2015.

At Collas Crill, the international private client and trusts practice focuses on a range of issues, including trusts, family law, international wills and estates, with clients based in the MENA and Caribbean regions. The team is co-led by Angela Calnan , who has an additional specialism in Shariah-compliant structuring and succession and probate expert Joanne Seal . David Cooney left the firm to join Walkers in April 2022.
