Daniel joined GQ as a partner in 2015 from Macfarlanes having originally trained at Clifford Chance and spent his most of his career working for two leading US law firms in London.

He has experience advising on a broad range of employment law issues including corporate transactions, TUPE, executive service agreements, restrictive covenants, corporate governance, board room disputes, high value employment tribunal claims and international HR projects.

Daniel’s practice is focused on:

  • Advising on employment issues arising on all types of corporate transactions and often involving a multi-national component.  He leads GQ’s transactional practice and provides support to a number of US law firms on transactional matters.
  • Advising on data privacy arising in an employment context.   He has practiced in this area for a number of years and is recognised for his expertise in this field. 
  • Advising on the appointment and removal of senior board level directors.  He has been involved with the appointment of CEOs to a number of household name private and publically owned companies.
  • Advising US headquarters companies on the set up and operation of their UK offices.

He predominantly advises employers and, whilst he advises clients in a broad range of sectors, he has particular experience advising technology and financial services clients.

He serves on the management committee of the Employment Lawyer’s Association and is a member of the Association of Privacy Professionals.

Starting January 1st, 2013, a new tax law (Law No. 822, Tax Concertation Law) came into force in and completely changed the taxation system in Nicaragua. Two years later a new law was issued by the National Assembly containing more than 80 amendments, additions and repeals (Law No 891) which came into force December 18th, 2014.
