Career

Jonathan is a partner in the litigation and dispute resolution team with a broad range of experience and expertise. His particular areas of focus lie in contested trust and probate work, disputes within the agricultural sector and commercial litigation.

His contentious trust and probate experience is extensive, including High Court actions for the removal of executors and trustees, claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family & Dependants) Act 1975 and estoppel claims. Within the agricultural sector he has advised upon nuisance arising from flooding and odour emissions, land ownership and succession, contractual claims and farming partnership disputes. A broad commercial litigation practice has seen him act successfully in claims involving shareholder and partnership disputes, professional negligence (including against accountants, solicitors and agronomists) and debt claims.

Jonathan is a keen proponent of alternative dispute resolution and frequently engages in direct negotiation and mediation to settle even the most difficult disputes.

Based in Lincoln, Jonathan has specialist knowledge of the Lincolnshire market and supports numerous individuals and businesses across the county, wider East Midlands region and nationally, working as part of the nationwide team.
