Career

Marina, S.C., is one of the Senior and Founding Partners of Tan Kok Quan Partnership (TKQP).  She is also the Joint Managing Partner and Co-Head of the Dispute Resolution practice.

Marina was qualified in Singapore in 1990.  Prior to founding TKQP, Marina worked with Lee & Lee from 1990 to 2000 as a Legal Associate and Partner successively.

With more than 30 years of experience, Marina has advised market participants on disputes and general business matters across a broad spectrum of industry sectors in Asia.

Marina speaks and writes on a wide variety of litigation and arbitration law related topics regularly.  As a testament to her expertise and the respect she commands in the legal community, Marina was invited to contribute to three important publications for litigators:

• Singapore Civil Procedure 2022;
• Singapore Court Practice;
• Singapore Precedents of Pleadings; and
• Commercial Litigation in Singapore.

Marina is the recipient of the Euromoney Legal Media Group Asia Women in Business Law Awards – Best in Dispute Resolution award.  She has been ranked as a Recommended Lawyer for Dispute Resolution by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific since 2017.  In addition, Best Lawyers has recognised Marina as one of the leading lawyers in the fields of Arbitration and Mediation since 2019, and in the field of Litigation for 2023.
