Career

Yong Min Lee is a partner in the Intellectual Property Practice Group in Yulchon, and a leading member of the New-Industry IP Team that the firm recently launched to focus on cross-practice industry sector issues with IP, TMT, and other legal practice areas.

Mr. Lee graduated from Korea University with both an LL.B. and a separate LL.M. degree in intellectual property law, and is licensed to practice as a lawyer in Korea.  He also worked as a Foreign Associate in the IP Group of the Palo Alto office of Haynes and Boone, LLP after completing a LL.M. program at the UCLA School of Law specializing in Entertainment, Media, and IP Law.

After his return from Haynes and Boone, Mr. Lee continues to practice IP and TMT at Yulchon. Mr. Lee has won global recognition as an up-and-coming professional in the field of IP as follows:

Mr. Lee had the privilege of representing Samsung Electronics in the worldwide famous IP litigation between the world’s top smartphone rivals, i.e., Samsung v. Apple.  In regard to the IP lawsuit filed with Korean courts, Mr. Lee was responsible for defending Samsung from design patent infringement and unfair competition claims asserted by Apple.  Based on his expertise in law and full dedication to the client, he managed to successfully defend Samsung from all of these claims.  When the global dispute was finally settled in Korea, he and the Yulchon team assisted Samsung to obtain more favorable settlement terms.
