Career
Samantha is a Partner and Education and Community Care Solicitor at Simpson Millar. Her main areas of expertise including helping children and young people with special educational needs get the right school placements and support.
She also helps parents before they are given a right of appeal by reviewing draft Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) and attending annual reviews on their behalf.
Samantha is particularly experienced in handling disputes over home to school transport, either through judicial review or local authority appeals, as well as cases involving school admissions, exclusions and disability discrimination.
She regularly speaks on behalf of clients in the First-tier Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Tribunal, and is able to carry out her own advocacy in the High Court after gaining her Higher Rights of Audience in 2017.
Leisure
Samantha enjoys walking her dog and is learning to ice skate. She has also completed an introductory course in British Sign Language.
