Ben is an insurance partner with particular specialism in defending claims against construction professionals, brokers and solicitors. He has acted on a large variety of claims, ranging from complex multi party, high value claims to the lower value and more straightforward. Ben is also regularly instructed on D&O claims, both to provide coverage advice to insurers and to defend the directors. Following secondments at two major London market insurers, Ben has obtained a detailed understanding of the insurance industry and the relevant commercial drivers.

RPC‘s sizeable professional negligence practice offers wide-ranging expertise in this space, acting for professionals in the legal, financial services and construction sectors as well as for insurance brokers. The team is also adept at handling directors and officers claims. The practice counts many of the most prominent PI insurers in the market amongst its clients, and also receives direct instructions from professional firms. Rhian Howell leads the Bristol office and has many years of experience acting in the defence of barristers and solicitors. Will Sefton is also active in representing legal professionals and also handles prominent cases involving directors, and Ben Goodier leads much of the team’s work in the construction industry. Rachael Healey and Robert Morris are the key names to note in cases related to financial services, with Healey particularly focused on the pensions industry. David Allison and Kirstie Pike were promoted to the partnership in May 2021.
