Norton Rose Fulbright‘s corporate and M&A team is particularly strong in areas such as real estate, TMT, energy and natural resources, and life sciences. Its team combines knowledge about a full range of corporate and commercial issues, with expertise in related areas; practice head Psyche Tai  and Vicky Lam are among a number of practitioners who are experienced in public M&A and equity capital markets transactions. Emma de Ronde and James Parker are active in M&A transactions in the financial services sector, which is complemented by their knowledge of related industry-specific regulatory issues. The group was strengthened by the arrival of Margie Chan from Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP. In addition, Allen Yee rejoined the firm as a consultant from Lei Shing Hong Limited.

Norton Rose Fulbright‘s strong credentials in the equity capital markets arena are illustrated by the fact that recent mandates involved industries such as technology (including fintech and biotech), life sciences, real estate, education and energy. Led by Psyche Tai, its group provides the full scope of advice on IPOs, rights issues, public M&A, share placements and block trades. A name to note is Terence Lau, who has over 20 years of private practice experience in Hong Kong. Another key figure is Doris Ng, who has worked with Tai to build up the firm’s relationships with investment banks and institutional corporate clients. Winnie ChanVicky Lam and Harold Tin are other notable partners, as is Margie Chan, who was hired from Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP. Senior associate Aldo Chan is also recommended. Allan Yee rejoined the firm as a consultant from Lei Shing Hong Limited.

Hong Kong > Capital markets (debt)

Norton Rose Fulbright‘s Hong Kong team includes US-qualified securities lawyers, one of whom is Margie Chan, who was hired from Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP. Chan’s arrival has been key to growing the firm’s volume of work in relation to high-yield securities offerings, exchange offers and tender offers. Consultant Allan Yee, who rejoined the firm from Lei Shing Hong Limited, also has US securities law expertise, as does Harold Tin. In addition to being active in the high-yield debt space, other US securities law transactions include Rule 144A/Regulation S offerings, traditional private placements into the US and SEC-registered transactions. The team also has broader capabilities in bond restructurings, issuances of convertible and exchangeable bonds, medium-term note programmes, pre-IPO bonds and liability management, among other matters. Clients include corporates, investment banks and PRC securities houses. Psyche Tai leads the team.
