Career

In her professional practice, Karina has led more than 50 implementations of UIF compliance and consumer protection programs for companies in the tourism, real estate, construction, and retail sectors. It has implemented consumer protection Compliance programs for companies in the tourism and retail sector. Likewise, she has been responsible for the implementation of Personal Data policies for more than 15 companies, achieving the desired objectives, and has provided advice on procedures before INDECOPI and contracting with the State.

Karina is recognized for obtaining the reduction of fees charged by SENASA for clients in the agricultural sector, being the promoter of a reform of the TUPA of said entity.

She has taught courses related to regulatory compliance in companies in the real estate, financial, construction and tourism sectors. She has also been an international speaker in training programs on prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing.

Karina  is a member of the Lima Bar Association. Furthermore, Karina has currently been appointed as President of the Peruvian Compliance Institute.

Education

Lawyer from the Universidad de Piura, with specialization in Compliance and Good Corporate Practices from the Universidad del Pacífico. Karina has a diploma in Administrative Law from the Universidad San Martín de Porres and postgraduate courses in Compliance and Anti-Corruption from Universidad ESAN. In addition to this, She has also taken postgraduate courses in Personal Data Protection from the Universidad Javeriana de Colombia. Moreover, she has postgraduate courses in Consumer Protection and Intellectual Property from the National Institute for the Defense of Competition and Intellectual Property – INDECOPI and she is currently taking a postgraduate course in Compliance in the UPF Barcelona School of Management de la Universidad Pompeu Fabra.
