Career

Nicola has nearly twenty years of experience in complex and high-profile international litigation. She was called to the English and Bahamian Bar and practiced as a barrister for ten years, then at a leading boutique litigation firm for close to a decade, before joining Quillon Law.

Nicola started her practice as a defence advocate in the Crown Courts, and then as an advisor to businesses in crisis in chancery, commercial and employment cases. She specialises in high value civil fraud cases, and has substantial experience defending against injunctions and freezing orders. She has led teams in multi-disciplinary cases, often across several jurisdictions. Her cases feature simultaneous criminal and civil disputes with potentially competing strategies, coordinated legal and media attacks, and multiple proceedings ongoing in several jurisdictions.

Nicola’s high-value and complex cases have often involved difficult and emerging areas of law in the Privy Council, Court of Appeal, Employment Appeal Tribunal and European Court of Human Rights, including one of the leading cases relating to material non-disclosure in freezing orders. She has worked closely with foreign legal teams, including in Switzerland, The Bahamas, Cyprus, Dubai, Thailand and Singapore.
