Career
Ayşegül Akbal is a managing partner of Akbal Law Firm. Ayşegül started her legal career at one of the Turkish Finance Company’s Headquarters in 2000 in the legal department. During her six and a half years of experience as in-house counsel she worked on tax disputes, administrative disputes and all transactions necessary for board meetings and shareholder meetings, supervised outside counsel in non-performing loan litigations. In 2006 she joined Hergüner Bilgen Özeke Attorney Partnership as a litigation associate. At Hergüner, Ayşegül handled hundreds of cases as either lead associate or as a member of a team of litigators. She mainly represents Turkish and multinational companies in commercial and tax disputes. She also published several articles on topics ranging from commercial law to tax law.
