Career

Helle Ina has more than 15 years’ environmental law experience.

After having obtained her Ph.D. in compulsory acquisition and property law relating to semi-public corporations etc. in 2007, Helle Ina was employed by the Danish Nature Agency as a lawyer specialising in planning law.

In 2012 she assumed responsibility for legislation and directives relating to environmental assessment (EIA). For instance, Helle Ina has been instrumental in drafting the environmental assessment act, she has negotiated the EIA directive of the EU, drafted guidance notes and been a member of the Commission’s group of experts for the environmental assessment directives.

With her many years of employment at the Danish Ministry of Environment, including the department, Helle Ina also brings with her great insight into the political processes behind political settlements and the work of the Danish Folketing.

Helle Ina has been with Haugaard|Braad since 2022, and her primary duties are EU- and national environmental law with interfaces to planning law and related administrative law issues.

Education

Helle Ina holds a master’s degree in law and a Ph.D. in property law from Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen.
