Career

Emma is a corporate lawyer in the KPMG Law team. Having spent many years in private practice law firms, including leading the national corporate team of a Top 30 UK law firm, Emma joined KPMG to lead its legal services business in the South.

Emma has extensive experience of operating in corporate finance, with particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, corporate reconstructions and reorganisations and private equity transactions as well as advising corporates and owners on all aspects of fund raising.

Emma works closely with colleagues in financial services regulatory and tax to design fund structures considering the needs of investors, co-investors and founders.

Emma has a strong background and focus on advising family owned businesses, whether on succession and change or governance issues. Working closely with her colleagues in Tax and private client law, Emma and colleagues can provide strategic integrated advice.

Experiences and insights gained when setting up, running and exiting her own business as well as those gained in the many years she has been in advising corporates has reinforced her view that an integrated, international and technology enhanced legal services offering is the optimum solution for both businesses and owners.
