Career

Alfonso Garcia professional practice focuses on administrative law, specifically tax matters. His main areas of expertise are tax and administrative litigation, providing advice in tax examinations by the authorities, procedures and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms in tax matters submitted to the Mexican Tax Ombudsman (PRODECON), representing high profile domestic and international clients.

He has 20 years of experience in administrative and tax litigation, which has allowed him to participate in relevant controversies before District Courts and Federal Tribunals, including the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN).

He is the author of several articles published in the Mexican legal and accounting media. Co-author of the book “Procedimientos Contenciosos de Resolución Exclusiva de Fondo” (Contentious Proceedings for Exclusive Resolution Based on the Merits of the Case).  He teaches Tax Law at Centro de Investigacion y Docencia Economicas, (CIDE).
