Career

Lina is a senior associate in Mendoza’s Corporate Finance practice. She has more than 8 years of experience in sovereign debt, capital markets, corporate finance transactions and financial derivatives.  

She has advised the Republic of Colombia, quasi-sovereign entities, state-owned entities and other governmental instrumentalities in their financing transactions, including syndicated loan facilities, bond issues and derivatives transactions for the financing of projects and capital expenditure and budgetary needs, with commercial financial institutions, development banks and multilateral entities, among others. She has also participated in project finance transactions in the oil and energy industries, and in leveraged buyout transactions for the acquisition of state-owned entities.  

Before joining Mendoza, Lina was head of the legal affairs group of the General Directorate of Public Credit and National Treasury of the Ministry of Finance, where she led the project for the modernization of the public credit regime issued in 2022. She was board member of a state-owned energy company and part of its auditing and projects committee. She also worked as an associate for a major leading law firm in Colombia.
