Career

Diego Alvarez joined Ramos Ripoll & Schuster un June, 2012. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Law from Universidad Panamericana, and an LLM in Energy and Natural Resources Law from Queen Mary College, University of London (holding a full-scholarship granted by the British Government). Diego has also obtained postgraduate diplomas in International Arbitration, Project Finance and Energy Law. After his studies in London, in 2018, he undertook an international work placement at Clifford Chance.

With more than 10 years of experience, Diego is specialised in infrastructure and energy projects (with particular expertise on renewables). He has wide experience in the structuring, bidding and execution of diverse large-scale endeavours in Latin America, which have included metro lines, port facilities, railways, highways, dams, pipelines, wind farms, solar parks, hydropower plants, and distributed energy projects. Diego is also experienced in the implementation of public private partnerships at a local and a federal level.

Additionally, Diego counts with substantial experience in international arbitration and alternative dispute resolution, having participated in both national and international arbitration procedures (including investment arbitration) administered by institutions such as ICC, ICSID, CANACO & CIETAC.
